  • Enquiries that do not lead to a consultation: 12 months, then deleted. This includes the copy held by our form provider.
  • If you become a patient: clinical records are kept in line with the NHS England Records Management Code of Practice: 8 years after your last contact with us for adults; for children, until their 25th birthday, or their 26th birthday if they were 17 at the end of treatment.
  • Analytics data: detailed analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months. Summary reports contain no personal details.
  • Accounting records: as long as the law requires.

7. Cookies and analytics

This website does not use cookies for advertising. When you first visit, a cookie banner asks whether you accept Google Analytics.

  • If you click Accept, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Google advertising features are switched off. Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_*, which last up to two years.
  • If you click Decline, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Declining also removes any analytics cookies already set.
  • You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of any page, on desktop or mobile.

We store your cookie choice in your browser so that we do not keep asking. This is the only thing the website stores about you without your consent, and it is needed to respect your choice. The only analytics event we record is that an enquiry form was sent. Your name, email address and message are never sent to analytics.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
  • ask us to delete your information, or restrict how we use it;
  • object to us using it in certain ways, and ask for it in a portable format; and
  • withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, email info@respiratorysleep.org. We will reply within one month. Some rights are limited for clinical records, for example where we must keep them by law.

9. Keeping your information safe

This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. We limit access to your information to those who need it and we take reasonable steps to protect it from loss or misuse.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
